The basic structure of the motor driver

The basic circuit structure of the stepper motor driver is shown in the figure. The stepper motor does not move when connected directly to AC or DC power supply and must be used simultaneously with the drive circuit to perform its function. The driver (drive circuit) consists of a control circuit (or logic circuit) that determines the commutation sequence and a commutation circuit (or power stage) that controls the output power of the motor, the details of which are described in a later chapter.
